About the role
Interop Labs, the core development team behind the Axelar network, is seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect – Payments to help design and implement interoperability solutions for next-generation stablecoin and digital payment use cases. This individual will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders across protocol engineering, product, and external partner teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions that unlock new forms of payment infrastructure onchain and across chains.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of financial infrastructure and decentralized technology. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of legacy and modern payments infrastructure, understands regulatory and operational constraints in global money movement, and is passionate about shaping the future of programmable payments.
Your responsibilities
  • Lead architectural design and technical integration for stablecoin issuers, PSPs, wallets, and fintechs using the Axelar network
  • Translate complex payment and treasury workflows into secure, scalable cross-chain implementations
  • Serve as the technical liaison for partners, translating between business requirements and protocol capabilities
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SDK references, and demo applications for payment-related use cases
  • Collaborate closely with protocol, product, and BD teams to define key feature requirements and feedback loops
  • Support go-to-market efforts with solution diagrams, reference architectures, and integration plans
  • Represent Interop Labs in technical forums, partner calls, and developer communities focused on digital payments
Your profile
  • 10+ years of experience in technical solution architecture or engineering roles at global payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure companies
  • Deep understanding of payment processing flows, settlement systems, compliance (KYC, AML), and FX/liquidity operations
  • Familiarity with stablecoin ecosystems, blockchain protocols, and smart contract platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Cosmos SDK)
  • Hands-on experience designing or implementing APIs and SDKs for payment or treasury products
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly with product managers and enterprise clients
  • Ability to design for resilience, latency sensitivity, and compliance constraints
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment with cross-functional teams
Bonus
  • Experience with cross-border payment rails, CBDCs, or tokenized money platforms
  • Understanding of MPC custody models or blockchain interoperability stacks
